Xinya believes the media has an important role to play in addressing the myriad challenges the world faces.
We believe that as we grow our business through responsible programming, digital innovation, exciting events and international expansion, we also have a bigger opportunity to contribute to a more well-informed world.
That’s why corporate social responsibility features in all the different parts of our business.
As an Asian Mandarin television network, we believe our role is not only to entertain but also to inform. Hence, the first programmes we commission examine social issues at the heart of Asia - poverty, HIV, urbanization, slums and gender equality among others. We aim to work with different agencies and nongovernmental organizations all over Asia, to highlight the challenges of development, and contribute to workable solutions.
We also believe in the message of climate change, a message that is particularly pertinent to Asia as the economies here charge ahead. Hence our TV programming will include environmental documentaries. We plan to carry the best of international environmental programming and adapt it to the Mandarin speaking audiences who watch us. We will also partner environmental groups to raise awareness at local levels and spread the message of conservation.
Giving back to the communities we work in is also important for us. So wherever possible we will engage schools, communities, and other social groups in our business. We will provide training and mentorship opportunities for those interested in the media business. We will include the under privileged in our events. And we will propagate good values across our media content.
As a media agency, we also have visibility to engage in fund raising. Hence, a portion of our profits every year will go to causes we believe in.
Xinya’s commitment to high standards of ethical behavior, people development, and engaging communities forms the backbone of everything we do here. Corporate social responsibility is the way we achieve long term growth. |
